Vase, Bengt Berglund, Gustavsberg, Sweden, 1964.

Tall rectangular stoneware vase with dark blue glaze. One side decorated with a relief pattern of small circular fields in lighter blue shades, creating a geometric and rhythmic surface. Base signed "Bengt" and dated 19-3-64, also marked with model number.

Origin: Gustavsberg, Sweden

Designer: Bengt Berglund (1936–2019)

A striking vase by Bengt Berglund for Gustavsberg, where strict form meets experimental surface decoration in characteristic Scandinavian modernism.

Bio: Bengt Berglund (1936–2019) was a Swedish ceramicist and designer, educated at Konstfack in Stockholm. He worked for Gustavsberg from 1960 and became known for his architectural forms and experimental glazes. Today, his works are considered among the most interesting examples of Swedish ceramics from the 1960s.
