Bio:
Around 1900, Gustavsberg produced a number of figurative biscuit porcelain sculptures, often inspired by classical mythology and antique ideals. The biscuit technique, with its matte, marble-like surface, was particularly suited to sculptural works and commonly used for decorative interior figures. These early Gustavsberg sculptures are today regarded as desirable collector’s pieces.
