Bio:
Jean René Gauguin was an important Danish sculptor and ceramic artist, and the son of Paul Gauguin. He worked for Bing & Grøndahl from 1914 to 1930, creating some of the factory’s most sculpturally ambitious ceramic works. He is particularly renowned for his expressive animal figures, which combine strong form with sophisticated glaze effects, and today his works are considered highlights of early 20th-century Danish ceramic art.
