Compact, rounded stoneware vase with moulded relief decoration featuring an animal and stylised foliage. Finished in warm, earthy glaze tones with a contrast between the light ground and darker, subtly crackled relief, characteristic of Michael Andersen & Son’s Bornholm production of the period. The model belongs to the workshop’s figurative and decorative line from this era.

Michael Andersen & Son was one of the most prominent ceramic workshops on Bornholm, renowned for its skilled craftsmanship, distinctive glazes and use of relief decoration. During the 1960s and 70s, the workshop produced both abstract and figurative designs, often inspired by nature and wildlife, resulting in stoneware with a strong decorative and recognisable character.
