Chinese Porcelain, Pair of Hat Stands.
Pair of cylindrical porcelain hat stands, hand-decorated with figural scenes in enamels together with calligraphy and seals. The calligraphic text may be translated as: “The fragrance of flowers is pure and far-reaching; the graceful blossoms reflect refined taste and express calm, harmony, and unity between nature and man.”

Origin: China.
Material: Porcelain, hand-painted enamel decoration.
Dimensions: H. 28 cm, D. 13 cm.
Period: 19th century.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
19th-century Chinese porcelain was often decorated with narrative figural scenes combined with calligraphic inscriptions referring to poetry, cultivation, and nature. The interaction of image, text, and red seals echoes the scholar-painting tradition and gives the pieces a cultivated and highly decorative character.
