Bio:
Damm was a harbour assistant at Frederikshavn, but he also made models and paintings of ships.
Danish ship paintings around 1900 continue the 19th-century maritime tradition, focusing on accurate representation of ship types, rigging, and sail configuration. Such works often served as commemorative portraits of specific vessels and were popular among sailors, shipowners, and in port towns such as Svendborg. The style combines documentary precision with an atmospheric rendering of sea and sky.
