Bing & Grøndahl was founded in Copenhagen in 1853 and is renowned for its high technical and artistic standards in porcelain production. The company gained international recognition for figurines, tableware, and decorative objects, with a strong emphasis on naturalistic modelling and refined detail. In the early 20th century, animal figurines became a significant part of the production, characterised by balanced proportions and sensitive surface treatment. In 1987, Bing & Grøndahl merged with Royal Copenhagen.
