Bio:
Mason’s traces back to the potter Charles James Mason (1791–1856), who founded the company in Staffordshire in the early 19th century. Mason became particularly known for its robust ironstone wares, which achieved wide distribution both domestically and internationally. During the 19th and 20th centuries the factory produced a broad range of faience and tableware with distinctive transferware decoration. Mason’s is today regarded as one of the classic and most respected names in English ceramics.
