Royal Copenhagen, set of 3 antique lunch plates.

Hand-painted porcelain plates decorated with a naturalistic thistle motif and a gilded rim. The plates feature a subtly ribbed surface and reflect the high level of craftsmanship characteristic of Royal Copenhagen’s production in the second half of the 19th century.

Bio:
Founded in 1775, Royal Copenhagen is the oldest porcelain manufactory in Denmark. During the 19th century, the factory achieved international recognition for its exceptional hand-painted porcelain with botanical decoration, characterised by technical precision and artistic refinement. Plates from this period were produced for formal table settings and are today highly sought-after antique collector’s pieces.
