Elegant porcelain pitcher from the Butterfly series with hand-painted underglaze blue decoration featuring stylised flowers and butterfly, finished with gilded details along the rim and handle.
Origin: Denmark.
Material: Porcelain.
Dimensions: H. 21 cm, D. 16 cm.
Period: 1880s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
Bing & Grondahl was founded in 1853 in Copenhagen by art dealer Bing and the Grondahl brothers. The factory became renowned for its fine porcelain with detailed underglaze painting, particularly in blue tones inspired by natural motifs. By the late 19th century, Bing & Grondahl had gained international recognition for its high quality and artistic excellence.
