Axel Salto (1889–1961) was one of Denmark’s most significant artists, ceramicists and designers. He is especially renowned for his organic forms, experimental glazes and groundbreaking work in Danish ceramic art. Through his works for Royal Copenhagen, he created timeless designs that remain highlights of Scandinavian modernism.
