Bio:
Matilda Meleniewska (1869-1930) was a Polish painter educated at the Adrian Baraniecki Higher Courses for Women in Kraków, later continuing her studies in Dresden, Munich, and at the Académie Julian in Paris. She exhibited in Kraków and Lviv and became known primarily for her still lifes and portraits. Her work reflects strong academic foundations combined with a sensitive colouristic style, often focusing on floral compositions and intimate subject matter, securing her place among notable early 20th-century Polish women artists.
