Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was a Finnish-Swedish ceramicist and designer educated at the School of Arts and Crafts in Helsinki. She worked for Upsala Ekeby from 1949 to 1972 and became renowned for her colourful, figurative and often imaginative ceramic works, with a highly distinctive artistic language that established her as a major figure in Nordic mid-century design.
