Villeroy & Boch, art nouveau majolica vase.
Organically shaped floral vase in glazed earthenware with hand-decorated polychrome iris flower in violet, blue, yellow and green tones. Produced in Luxembourg with characteristic Jugendstil styling from the late nineteenth century.

Origin: Luxembourg.
Material: Majolica, glazed earthenware.
Dimensions: H. 29 cm, D. 17 cm.
Period: Late 19th century.
Condition: Good condition with age-related chips and glaze loss to the floral rim, see photos.

Bio:
Villeroy & Boch was founded in 1748 by François Boch and Nicolas Villeroy and became one of Europe’s leading producers of ceramics, porcelain and majolica during the nineteenth century. The company gained particular recognition during the art nouveau era for its innovative organic forms, nature-inspired decoration and exceptional craftsmanship.
