Royal Copenhagen was founded in Copenhagen in 1775 under royal patronage and remains one of Denmark’s most important porcelain manufacturers. The company is internationally renowned for its hand-painted porcelain, particularly its distinctive cobalt blue underglaze decorations. Throughout the twentieth century Royal Copenhagen produced fine art porcelain, tableware and commemorative plates of exceptional quality, many of which are highly sought after by collectors today.
