Bernard Rooke, brutalist vase.

Hand-built stoneware vase with pronounced relief decoration in the Brutalist style. The vase features carved geometric and circular motifs combined with a characteristic earthy glaze, typical of Bernard Rooke’s ceramic works from the 1970s.

Bio:
Bernard Rooke (1938–2019) was a British ceramic artist and sculptor renowned for his distinctive Brutalist stoneware creations. After studying at Guildford School of Art, he established his own studio in the 1960s and gained international recognition for his architectural forms, deeply carved reliefs, and earthy glazes. His work is regarded as one of the most recognisable expressions of post-war British studio pottery.
