Jørgen Mogensen for Royal Copenhagen, bowl.

Round stoneware bowl with a warm reddish-brown exterior and an azure blue glazed interior, decorated with a geometric lattice pattern at the base. Model 21939, executed in first quality.

Origin: Denmark.
Designer: Jørgen Mogensen.
Material: Stoneware.
Dimensions: H. 6 cm, D. 22 cm.
Period: 1960s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Jørgen Mogensen (1927–2004) was a renowned Danish ceramicist who trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen and subsequently continued his studies in Paris. In 1949, he joined Royal Copenhagen, where he worked in an artistic environment alongside figures including Axel Salto and Nils Thorsson. His ceramic production ranged from functional objects to sculptural works and is characterised by strong forms, decorative patterns and a refined interplay between stoneware and glaze. In 1965, he left Royal Copenhagen and established his own studio together with his wife, Ursula Printz Mogensen.
