Bio:
Danish town prospects from the 18th century form an important part of early topographical printmaking, documenting the appearance of towns before the major transformations of the 19th century. This prospect of Thisted presents the town from a distance, with its prominent church at the centre and the Limfjord forming an essential part of the surrounding landscape. Brorson’s prospects from this period are of interest both as historical documents and as decorative examples of 18th-century Danish graphic art.
