Evald Nielsen, sugar tongs.

Hand-hammered sugar tongs in 830 silver, model no. 2, with decorative floral ornaments to the handles. Stamped with the three-tower silver mark.

Origin: Denmark.
Designer: Evald Nielsen.
Material: 830 silver.
Dimensions: L. 12 cm.
Period: Early 20th century.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Evald Nielsen (1879–1958) was a Danish silversmith and a prominent representative of the Danish Skønvirke movement. He established his own workshop in Copenhagen in 1905 and became particularly known for handcrafted jewellery and flatware featuring organic floral and plant motifs. From 1918 to 1948, he served as master of the Copenhagen Goldsmiths’ Guild, and his works are represented today in collections including Designmuseum Danmark and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
