Bio:
Bjørn Wiinblad (1918–2006) was a Danish artist, ceramicist, illustrator and stage designer known for his imaginative and highly decorative visual language. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he worked throughout his career with ceramics, graphic art, textiles and stage design. His work is particularly recognised for stylised human figures, intricate patterns and abundant ornamentation. Det Blå Hus in Kongens Lyngby was Wiinblad’s home and workplace and housed his own ceramics studio.
