Royal Copenhagen, Art Nouveau plate.

Hand-painted porcelain plate, model 239/10520, decorated with stylised flowers in delicate blue, grey-green and white tones around the rim. A characteristic example of Royal Copenhagen's organic Art Nouveau design language from the early 20th century.

Bio:
Royal Copenhagen was founded in Copenhagen in 1775 as the Royal Porcelain Factory. The manufactory became internationally renowned for Danish porcelain and around 1900 developed a distinctive design language characterised by natural motifs and hand-painted underglaze decoration. Plates with model number 10520 are known with various floral decorations and were produced in several variants during the early 20th century.
