Kjerstin Landgren, modernist landscape, mixed media on paper, listed Swedish artist.
Modernist landscape with scattered trees and cypress-like forms set against monumental blue mountain ranges. Executed in a subdued palette of green, blue, brown and grey, with free, sketch-like linework and broad, translucent passages of colour. Simplified forms and an expressive handling of colour and line give the landscape an immediate and atmospheric quality. Signed.

Bio:
Dorry Elisabet Kristina Kjerstin Landgren-Löwenstein (1915–1974) was a Swedish painter. She is recorded in Svenskt konstnärslexikon, and works by her appear on the Swedish auction market under the name Kjerstin Landgren. Her output included landscape subjects, while documented auction works also confirm her use of mixed media, consistent with the free and colour-oriented treatment seen in the present work.
