Set of two small sauce boats from the Blue Line tableware series, designed by Grethe Meyer for Royal Copenhagen. Made in white-glazed faience with the characteristic fine blue rim and a simple, functional form. Model 565. First quality.

Bio:
Grethe Meyer (1918–2008) was a Danish architect and designer who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in 1947. Her work centred on function, proportion and the rational use of space. Blue Line entered production at Royal Copenhagen in 1965 and became one of her best-known tableware designs. Meyer later designed, among other works, the Hvidpot and Ildpot series, establishing a distinctive body of Danish functional design characterised by simplicity and utility.
