Danish artist (19th century): Prospect of Kolding Castle Ruins with part of the town and its surroundings, seen from the south side. Oil on canvas, glued on wooden board. Signed: OS 57 x 73 cm. Sketch - daylight.
Framed: 65 x 81 cm.
This work is a contemporary copy of IGS Harder's painting, exhibited at Charlottenborg from 1824 with the same title - but with the addition - Evening lighting! The work had no. 53 at the exhibition. Mentioned in Carl Reitzel's catalog page 233. The work now belongs to Koldinghus.
When comparing this painting and the original, you will see minor compositional differences.
A roughly similar copy can also be found at the Kolding State Archives.
