Carved wooden figure of Saint Morten (Martin), 18th/19th century. century. Philippines. Hard wood. Saint Morten in clothes and big boots. Height: 51 cm.
NB: Nice cut but the hands are missing.
Saint Morten is also called Morten Bishop in Denmark and abroad Saint Martin of Tours. November 11 is his death anniversary, and therefore we celebrate this day as his name and feast day. Incidentally, he is the national saint of France.
