Wall-mounted advertising sign for Hirschsprung Cigars, Denmark
Original advertising sign for A.M. Hirschsprung & Sønner, one of Denmark’s most significant tobacco and cigar manufacturers. The company was founded in Copenhagen in 1826 by Abraham Marcus Hirschsprung and later developed under his sons, Bernhard and Heinrich Hirschsprung, into one of the country’s leading cigar producers. During the second half of the 19th century, the company established a modern cigar factory in Copenhagen, and the Hirschsprung name became closely associated with Danish tobacco production.
The Hirschsprung family is also known for founding the renowned Hirschsprung Collection in Copenhagen, created by tobacco manufacturer Heinrich Hirschsprung and donated to the Danish state in 1902.
The sign features classic reddish and brown tones and represents a decorative piece of Danish advertising history connected to one of Denmark’s best-known industrial companies.
