I.L. Jensen's style of art work(19th Century): Set-up of fruit in a Greek bowl on a marble sill. Oil on mahogany plate. 35 x 44 cm. Unsigned. The layout here is classic and quite in I.L. Jensen's spirit.
At an auction in 2004 an identical set-up of fruits was sold in 1839 by the Danish flower painter Julie Holm. The picture was sold here with a flower arrangement painted by Julie's sister, Line Holm. Julie Holm may well have made another edition of the subject. Alternatively, another student of I.L. Jensen has been at stake.
