About P. Ipsens Enke :
P. Ipsens Enke was a renowned Danish ceramics factory, founded in 1843 by Peter Ipsen in Copenhagen. After his death in 1860, his widow, Louise Ipsen, and later their son, Bertel Ipsen, continued the business.
The factory specialized in terracotta and stoneware inspired by classical antiquity and gained international recognition at world exhibitions in Paris, London, and Vienna. In 1871, it was appointed Purveyor to the Royal Danish Court. In the early 20th century, the factory collaborated with prominent artists such as Thorvald Bindesbøll, Georg Jensen, and Axel Salto.
It closed in 1955, but its ceramics remain highly valued and are featured in museums around the world.
