The Meissen porcelain factory was founded in 1710 in Germany and was the first in Europe to produce true hard-paste porcelain. Located in the town of Meissen near Dresden, the factory was established under the patronage of Augustus the Strong. Meissen is known for its exceptional quality, artistic decoration, and its iconic crossed swords trademark. The factory remains active today and is considered one of the world’s most prestigious porcelain brands.
