Watercolor on paper with bird motif, 1975.
A vibrant and dreamlike composition where figurative suggestions and abstract forms merge. The work balances between spontaneity and control: blue and red brushstrokes seem to form human figures, while yellow and light blue tones open the picture surface toward a bird motif on the right side. The division of the composition and the lyrical play of colors make this piece a characteristic example of Birkemose’s artistic language from the mid-1970s.
