Low cylindrical stoneware vase with wide rim. Exterior in unglazed stoneware with rustic texture. Interior glazed in blue and turquoise tones flowing towards the center, creating an intense play of colors. Base with incised signature and marked “Danmark”.

A decorative bowl by Nils Kähler, characterized by the contrast between the rustic unglazed exterior and the vibrant interior glaze – a fine example of Danish studio pottery from the 1960s.

Bio: Nils Kähler (1906–1979) was the fourth generation of the Kähler family in Næstved and played a central role in the development of the workshop’s modern stoneware in the mid-20th century. He combined raw textured surfaces with experimental glazes in vivid colors and is today regarded as one of Denmark’s most recognized stoneware artists.
