Bio: Famille rose (fencai) is a porcelain decoration technique developed during the Qing dynasty in the early 18th century, using opaque enamels in soft tones to render detailed figure scenes and calligraphy. The style was continued and refined during the late Qing and Republic period, when such decorated vases became highly desirable export pieces.
