Bio:
Founded in Copenhagen in 1853, Bing & Grøndahl is renowned for fine porcelain and collectible pieces. In the 1980s the factory also produced smaller series of decorative utility items, including ashtrays with advertising and tobacco motifs. These four examples reflect both the quality of Danish porcelain craftsmanship and the graphic design of the period. After the 1987 merger with the Royal Porcelain Factory (Royal Copenhagen), Bing & Grøndahl became part of Royal Copenhagen, making such objects especially interesting collector’s items today.
