Thrown and hand-decorated faience with motifs of folk dancing couples and musicians in blue, brown, and black tones on a cream-coloured ground. Decorated with blue and brown rim lines.

Origin: Denmark.
Maker: Unknown studio potter.
Material: Faience.
Dimensions: D. 19.5–23 cm.
Period: c. 1940/50s.
Condition: Very good condition, minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Danish ceramics from the mid-20th century are often characterised by playful and folkloristic decoration, where everyday life and traditional motifs were rendered in a simple, almost naïve style.
