Bio:
Emil Gregersen (1921–1993) was a Danish painter and member of the resistance during WWII. Trained as a house painter, he studied with Immanuel Ibsen (1943–44) and debuted at the Artists’ Autumn Exhibition in 1946. Early works reflected wartime impressions, later focusing on interiors, cityscapes, and numerous public decorations. He was a member of Grønningen (1964–70) and Den Frie Udstilling, receiving the Eckersberg Medal in 1980. His works are represented in the collections of the National Gallery of Denmark, Vendsyssel Art Museum, and ARoS.
