Bio:
Søren Elgaard (b. 1951, Aalborg) is a Danish visual artist, lecturer, and author. He studied art history at Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen and in the 1970s received training in life drawing from the graphic artists Elsa Nielsen and Palle Nielsen. As a painter, he is autodidact. Elgaard often works with motifs drawn from urban spaces, architecture, and reflections, where reality is transformed through composition and perspective. He has carried out several major public commissions, including large-scale wall paintings, and is represented in several Danish museums such as the National Gallery of Denmark (SMK), ARoS, and Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg.
