Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 under the patronage of Queen Juliane Marie and soon became renowned for its hand-painted decorations. The “Saxon Flower” pattern, introduced in the late 18th century and inspired by botanical engravings, was applied not only to tableware but also to rarer decorative and desk accessories, making pieces such as this pen tray particularly desirable collector’s items today.
