Rectangular stoneware bowl with hand-decorated concrete/geometric motif in blue, black, red and white glaze. Gently curved edges and shallow cupped form.

Origin: Sweden, Uppsala Ekeby.

Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of use.

Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was one of Uppsala Ekeby’s leading ceramic artists, celebrated for her expressive and colourful works of the 1950s and 60s. Her style ranges from Nordic modernism to abstract and concrete decoration, as seen in this example.
