Bio:
Upsala-Ekeby was one of Sweden’s leading ceramic manufacturers from the early 1900s, particularly renowned for its artistic and decorative faience during the mid-century era. The company acquired Gefle in the 1930s, and from the 1950s to 70s became a hub for modern Scandinavian design with artists such as Mari Simmulson, Ingrid Atterberg and Hjördis Oldfors. The “Pang” series is a fine example of the vibrant and playful aesthetic of this period.
