Antique "Sause Pot", Triangular hat, Border gendarme. 19th century. Denmark. Manufacturer: Royal Court hat manufacturer AF Bodecker, Frederiksbergsgade, Copenhagen. Stamped inside. L.: 43 cm. H.: 13.5 cm.
The Holstein Border Gendarmerie was established on 1 January 1839 by King Frederik VI to control the border between the Duchy of Holstein, which was Danish, and the German principalities. The border was located at the river Elbe and the city of Hamburg.
