Decorative ceramic vase with a slightly asymmetric form and hand-painted geometric decoration in pastel tones of yellow, pink, and mint green on a textured brown background. A fine example of Simmulson’s signature style from the period, combining colour, texture, and modernist expression.
Origin: Sweden.
Designer: Mari Simmulson.

Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was a Swedish ceramic artist who worked for Gustavsberg and later for Upsala Ekeby (1949–1972). Her work is known for bold use of colour, graphic decoration, and distinctive forms, making her one of Sweden’s most celebrated mid-20th-century ceramic designers.
