Highly decorative tall cylindrical floor vase in chamotte clay with a textured, ribbed surface and carved incised decoration depicting a stylised bird and floral elements. Glazed in tones of blue, green and sand.

Bio:
Tilgmans Keramik in Gothenburg was active from the 1940s to the 1970s and is known for its hand-decorated chamotte pieces with strong graphic and often whimsical motifs. Antoni Marian Zawadzki (1916–1995) was one of the workshop’s leading designers and created distinctive reliefs and vases with incised decoration, often signed A.Z. His works are now sought after for their bold artistic expression and unmistakable style.
