Svend Hammershøi for Kähler vase, 1920/30s.
Characteristic vase by Svend Hammershøi for Kähler, produced in the 1920/30s. The form is square with gently rounded sides and small knop details at the corners. Vertical ribbing and the warm yellow-brown glaze are typical of Hammershøi’s ceramic work from this era.

Bio:
Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was one of Kähler’s most influential artists, known especially for his vertically ribbed forms and refined proportions. His works from the 1920s and 30s combine sculptural presence with functional clarity and are today regarded as landmarks of Danish ceramic design.
