Hand-painted in the classic “Blue Onion” (Zwiebelmuster) blue-and-white decoration with scalloped rim and fine relief porcelain.
Origin: Germany, Meissen.
Material: Porcelain.
Dimensions: Cup H. 5 cm, D. 7 cm. Saucer D. 11 cm.
Period: Late 19th century.
Condition: Very good condition with minor signs of wear.
Cups and saucers: Marked with Meissen crossed swords, cancelled with two incised lines.

Meissen’s iconic “Blue Onion” pattern, developed in the 1730s, is one of Europe’s most recognisable porcelain designs. The blue decoration was inspired by Chinese porcelain, adapting oriental fruits and flowers into a European aesthetic.
