Very large glazed stoneware figure of a downward-facing polar bear, shaped in Nylund’s characteristic soft, organic style. The pale glaze highlights the sculpted fur texture and the animal’s calm, grounded presence.

Bio:
Gunnar Nylund (1904–1997) was one of Rörstrand’s most influential designers and a leading figure in Swedish modernism. Known for sculptural forms, matte glazes and refined animal studies, his mid-century works are today highly sought after by collectors.
