Set of three mocha cups with saucers, 1970s.

Elegant set consisting of three mocha cups with matching saucers in white porcelain, decorated with subtle leaf ornamentation executed in transparent, lightly green-tinted glaze fields. The light and refined expression combined with soft forms is characteristic of Friedl Holzer-Kjellberg’s late porcelain production for Arabia.

Origin: Finland.

Condition: Very good condition, minor signs of use.

Bio:
Friedl Holzer-Kjellberg (1905–1993) was an Austrian-born ceramic artist who worked for Arabia in Finland from 1936. She is especially known for her technically refined porcelain works, including the famous “rice porcelain,” as well as later series with embossed and transparent decorations. Her designs combine technical innovation with Nordic modernism and are today highly valued by collectors.
