Very early and impressive large serving dish in the Blue Fluted Plain pattern, decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue underglaze on ribbed porcelain. The dish has a classic circular form with a well-balanced composition and rich decoration, characteristic of production around 1800.

Blue Fluted Plain was introduced in 1775 and is considered Royal Copenhagen’s oldest and most iconic pattern. The earliest pieces from the late 18th and early 19th centuries are distinguished by exceptional finesse in painting and proportions. Large dishes of this type were part of the formal dining table and are today rare and highly sought after by collectors.
