Bio:
Guido Gambone (1909–1969) was one of the most significant Italian ceramic artists of the mid-20th century, celebrated for confident forms and vivid, graphic decoration. His work ranges from sculptural pieces to functional objects, often defined by bold colour fields, freehand motifs, and a distinctly modernist sensibility. Bitossi of Montelupo Fiorentino was, at the same time, among Italy’s leading ceramic workshops, and its production from the 1950s and 60s is now regarded as highly collectible Italian design.
