Miniature stoneware vase with a cylindrical body and narrow neck, made as studio pottery (studio hand). The glaze is a deep brown with subtle tonal variation, accented by a distinct bluish transition at the shoulder and a ring foot.

Bio:
Berndt Friberg (1899–1981) is regarded as one of Sweden’s most important studio potters of the 20th century. Working at Gustavsberg, he became renowned for small, precisely thrown vases and exceptionally refined glazes, where profile and surface are balanced with remarkable technical control. Today, Friberg’s pieces are considered among the finest examples of Swedish studio ceramics and are highly sought after by collectors.
