The Blue Onion pattern by Meissen is one of the most recognisable and widely produced designs in European porcelain history. Openwork plates with lattice rims were commonly used for cakes or desserts and combine technical skill with decorative lightness, framing the Chinese-inspired motif within an airy ornamental border.
